Introduction

This document provides you the steps to creating and maintaining sectors.

Sectors are used to group external parties, such as customers and suppliers, according to the nature of their business. Some examples of sectors are manufacturing, retail, financial, healthcare, education, services, and utilities. Sectors are used to enable the management of customer relationships. Sectors can be further categorized into subsectors.

What version are you using?

The information in this document is applicable to product update 407. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.

How do I create a sector?

  1. Go to System ➔ General ➔ CRM ➔ Sectors.
  2. Click New.
  3. At Code, type the code for the sector.
  4. At Description, type the description for the sector.
  5. At Policy, click  to attach a policy to the sector.
  6. Click Save, and then click Close.

How do I edit the description of an existing sector?

  1. Go to System ➔ General ➔ CRM ➔ Sectors.
  2. Select the relevant sector.
  3. Click Open.
  4. At Description, type the new description for the sector.
  5. Click Save, and then click Close.
